Our 2019 Finance Campaign is underway. You may have already received our mailing with a letter and pledge card, but if not you can click on the links at the bottom of this page and print out a copy. The pledge cards will also be available at the Welcome Desk and Church Office. And as always you can pledge online. Go to the home page, click online giving and follow the simple instructions.

God is working and impact lives through Green Valley United Methodist Church

Open Hearts:

75 members participate in mission and service projects.   St. Timothy shelter has Green Valley UMC members there once a week serving meals and blessing those who are food insecure.  Society of St. Stephen receives our monthly food bank gifts.  4 square provides backpacks for our children and GVUMC sorts, packs monthly. 

Our shut-in’s and hospitalized members have had a boost this year with a team of six people who are ready to pray, share communion and give a bit of comfort.

Stephen ministry had a rejuvenation year by bringing in 4 new commissioned servants in to their program so that those that need the extra one on one attention can have a listening ear while they are working through life issues.

Open Minds:

Music program, alive and vibrant with youth musicals, cantatas and bringing God’s sweet sound to each of us during the worship service.

During the 2018 year, 25 new members have professed Jesus and have recognized the need for weekly fellowship.

GVUMC has had a reboot of Youth ministry, beginning this fall up to 18 Jr. High youth are actively engaged during the Wednesday night programming.  With 8 energizes youth sponsors assisting their Christian journey. 

Senior High and Jr. High connect for special activities with 16 kids Rocking it out at the last District youth activity at Desert Springs. Last year we had 0 kids participating.

We will have 10 kids participating in a Mission project to San Diego next summer.

When new people are asked what is special about GVUMC, we hear new opportunities for leadership and renewal of energy for them personally.

A group of 40 people began meeting as a reconciling study group, to continue the message of “Open Doors, Open Hearts and Open Minds”

Open Doors:

Woman of Spirit continues to flourish on Wednesday morning with Devotion, Study and growing in relationship with God.

GVUMC supports our outstanding Green Valley Preschool through no rent, free copies and some office help.

Outreach:  One of the most amazing aspects is the use of these three buildings.  There isn’t a day or night when a building isn’t full of people.  Our Tuesday night AA group fills our Fellowship hall along with Al Anon on various days of the week.  GVUMC has opened their doors to surround and support the community activities.

The August Blood Drive 37 donors (members and non) collected 37 pints of blood.

Now, Sunday afternoons, the Samoan Congregations will meet and Praise God in our Sanctuary.
