Theological Foundations

God is love. This fundamental truth guides our thinking and decisions in preparing to return to in-person worship, classes, and small group gatherings. We affirm God has not forsaken us in this pandemic nor is passing judgment. Rather God is in our midst loving us and requiring us to love one another. Therefore, our plan will be informed by love and what is deemed best for all.

Both services will be Live Streamed each Sunday for those wish to worship at home.
The livestream link can be found on the home page of our website 10 minutes before the worship start time.

In-Person Worship

In consideration of the risks of the transmission of Covid-19 at large gatherings of people, the counsel of the CDC and Annual Conference guidelines, and state and local regulations, acting in love, we will conduct in-person worship in a controlled, safe process.

Room capacity will be kept to numbers required by the conference (currently 25% of room capacity - approximately 100 people). This number will be adjusted as guided by Annual Conference and state requirements with consideration of the maximum number permissible by fire code.

The full Re-opening plan and detailed guidelines can be found HERE

When things return to normal, we will once again be an active and vibrant and dedicated to God church as described below:

Each Sunday we gather together in humbleness, sing hymns and songs of praise, enjoy the uplifting harmonies of our Chancel Choir or Praise Band, and hear a powerful uplifting message!  Together we give glory to God!

All are welcome at Green Valley UMC and we hope you will consider making this your home church! If you've yet to visit us, please come by soon!  We'd love to have you join us for one of our services!
Please stop by the Welcome/Information Desk so we can greet you warmly and answer any questions you may have!

Our prayer is that you will be blessed in all things and God will favor you with His light and guidance!

                                                                                                                                                  - GVUMC Congregation

Holy Communion takes place on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone is welcome at the Lord's Table. We use bread and grape juice. We also have gluten-free communion wafers available for those with dietary restrictions. For anyone who does not wish to dip their bread into the communal vase, the center aisle has separate small cups.

The goal of these guidelines is threefold; first to prevent abuse from happening to the children and youth in our care; second, to prevent false allegations of abuse against individuals and the church; third, to enable staff and volunteers to recognize and report suspected abuse.  (Download and review our Child Safety Policies)
